Latest Updates from Our Project:

Thank you so much!

Hi friends,

Raptors of the Midwest: Greeting Cards and Stickers just ended. Thanks to all who supported this project, we raised $625!

If you missed the campaign but still want raptor cards and stickers, the pre-order store is now live.

For backers, here are the next steps now that the campaign is over:

Payments: Any backers whose pledges didn't go through right away will have about two weeks to correct their payment information or follow up with their banks to make sure that the payment goes through if it was flagged as unusual. Once these two weeks are over, BackerKit will release the funds collected to me (minus their platform fee and the payment processing fees, around 10% total).

Surveys: You will receive an email in the next week or so with a survey for the pledge manager. In this survey, you will be able to upgrade your pledge or add more add-ons if you wish, as well as select which card and sticker designs you want and provide your shipping address. Without your survey being filled out I will not be able to ship you your rewards!

Production and Fulfillment: I will be putting in the print order for the cards and stickers soon. My sticker manufacturer estimates a lead time of 10-20 business days. Once I receive the campaign funds and surveys are locked, I will pack the orders and ship them out. With this timeline, I'm anticipating that the cards will be mailed to you in September.

Communication: I will send regular updates like this one throughout the process, including when surveys go out, when I receive the cards, and when I ship them. If you need any help with your pledge, first contact BackerKit support, as they will be more prompt in helping you. If you have any other questions, you can contact me at [email protected].

Thanks!

One week to go, new trivia question
14 days ago – Tue, Aug 18, 2026 at 06:16:46 AM

Hi everyone,

Thanks again to everyone who's supported this project! There are just 7 days left until the campaign ends. Feel free to share it with anyone in your life who'd appreciate some bird-themed stationery!

I've got a new trivia poll for you to test your raptor knowledge on. Also, you can still vote on which raptor portrait is your favorite. Click "View Poll" to see the images of the artwork.

Cheers!

Funded! Thank you so much!

Hi everyone,

The campaign funded in 25 minutes! Thank you for the awesome start to this campaign!

I've posted a poll so you can vote for your favorite raptor portrait. As the artist, it's always hard for me to pick a favorite, so I'd love to know yours! There's also a few hours left on my last trivia question that I posted pre-launch.

Cheers!

Launching next week! New trivia question
29 days ago – Mon, Aug 03, 2026 at 07:02:52 AM

Hi friends,

The campaign launches next Tuesday! Be sure to follow if you haven't already so that you're notified by email upon launch. Pledging early will help the campaign have the strongest launch possible!

The answer to last week's trivia question about which raptor can rotate their outer toe backwards to ensure a better grip on their prey: the correct answer was Osprey. It's one adaptation they have to hold on to the slippery fish they catch! Of the 6 raptors featured in this project, Great Horned Owls can also rotate their toes to a zygodactyl configuration, but I only included Osprey as one of the four answers :)

I've posted a new trivia question about Turkey Vultures, one of my favorite birds. Test your knowledge, and I will post the answer next week after the campaign launches!

Best,

-Annie

2 weeks to go until launch, and new trivia question
about 1 month ago – Mon, Jul 27, 2026 at 06:44:15 AM

Hi everyone,

We are almost 2 weeks away from launch! Be sure to follow this campaign if you haven't already so you can be notified on launch.

The answer to last week's trivia question, "A Bald Eagle's call is uncharacteristically gentle and sounds more like a gull than a large bird of prey. Movies and TV often dub over a Bald Eagle's screech with which raptor's call?" is Red-tailed Hawk. Most of you got it right! I like to call Red-tailed Hawks the voice actor of the Bald Eagle due to this fun fact.

I've posted a new trivia poll. Test your knowledge and I'll post the answer in a week!

Cheers,

-Annie
